But what if we told you that it’s possible not have to wrap a single gift this year? Yep, thanks to some amazing gift wrapping services available from your favourite retailers – many of which are totally FREE. You can get perfect precision wrapping (impossible at home), plus many stores also offer extra personalised touches to up the luxe-factor. Why wrap gifts when you can sip mulled wine instead? Here are some of the best gift-wrapping services…
It’s no surprise that Apple are pretty generous when it comes to wrapping and personalisation, but we didn’t expect FREE laser engraving on any iPad or iPod! Even the little Shuffle. Selected items can also be gift-wrapped in understated-cool, Apple-style wrapping, complete with a personalised card.
Origins offers free gift wrap with every online order: all you need to do is select the gift box option at the delivery page online, and you can even slip in a card with a message. Multiple items in an order will be packaged as one big gift, so make sure to order separately for separate giftees.
Online, L’Occitane are offering free gift wrapping and personal messaging with every order. Gifts are placed in a L’Occitane gift box or bag depending on the size, and finished with a personal message. Just click ‘Send my order gift wrapped’ at the checkout. You’ll also get the option for additional gift bags to be added, although be aware this doesn’t apply to Christmas gift sets. For extra experience, head to a L’Occitane store where you’ll be treated to the full ‘French wrapping’ experience. C’est magnifique!
Bobbi Brown doesn’t normally offer gift wrapping, but for Christmas, they put on a free service that includes a special notecard with your message. If you’re ordering more than one item to be gift-wrapped, these will be included in a lovely gift package.
We all know that personalisation is Thornton’s thang so when it comes to gifting chocs, it’s high on our list. When ordering online there are 30 products you can choose from to be personalised for FREE, and the range only looks set to grow (alphabet truffles, anyone?). All items come as they are, extra gift wrapping isn’t available, but some do come with sweet free delivery.
Personalising your orders from Hotel Chocolat with a gift message is free, however, for a little extra you can also get them wrapped in either a stylish black gift bag (£2.50) or a beautiful hamper (£5). This service is available in-store and online, they offer a premium gift bag for £1 which comes flat packed with your order, or for £5 they’ll hand packed your presents in a luxury gift box; both in Liz Earle’s signature blue packaging.

All gifts from Links of London are beautifully packaged in branded boxes and tied with Links of London ribbon – for free. If you’re looking for a little extra wow, there’s an engraving option too. Make your selection from engravable gifts and when viewing the product, select the engraving options you’d like – you even get a live preview of what it will look like as you type! Engraving is free with selected items and you’ll need to allow at least an extra 3-5 working days on top of delivery time though so (hint) get ordering now!
Glam up your gift from Feel Unique for £2.50 per gift with the gift wrap option, which lets you choose the finishing touch from a selection of pink, blue, red, white or gold ribbon, and write a personal message. The rest of the present is wrapped in thick, black paper or presented in a chic black box. Unlike other services, you can choose whether you would like to have your items individually wrapped or combined together in one big gift box.
Jo Malone always pulls out the stops when it comes to Christmas wrapping, each gift comes in the iconic cream box with black ribbon; and it’s a complimentary service. Not only do you get a beautifully wrapped gift for your loved one, you’ll also get a complimentary sample for yourself at the checkout.
For the personal touch, there’s also an engraving service to customise Jo Malone scents and products for your loved one with a message, date or initials. Just for this Christmas, engraving will be available every week from Thursday-Saturday in Jo Malone’s Regent Street Boutique. The brand will also be hosting Engraving Events in select Boutiques where you can have three characters per product added, completely free, in the run-up to Christmas. For £1.99 per item, the service at Fragrance Direct is not only pretty reasonable, but you also get to pick your gift-wrapping paper from a great selection of festive and classic wrapping.
Molton Brown take gifting very seriously. The luxury wrapping service is complimentary (yay) and your gift will come in a premium box with tissue paper and a beautiful grosgrain ribbon; plus you can add a personal message on a card for free. Just select ‘I would like a free gift box’ at the checkout. If you’re in-store you’ll get the same service but staff will fragrance the tissue paper with your choice of scent!
When shopping in-store at GAP this year, you can tick another present off the wrapping list by adding festive wrapping to your purchase. Staff will fold your present(s) and place them in the gift packaging for you, and if you’re really stuck, you can get matching gift cards. Gift wrap is only available in-stores.
Is there anything more iconic than going to Harrods Christmas department? We think not. If you happen to be in Knightsbridge shopping for gifts, Harrods have their very own gift wrapping station(!) on the lower-ground floor. Prices start from £4.50 for a small gift and you can choose from a range of luxury wrapping papers and ribbons in an array of colours.
The Fragrance Shop
At The Fragrance Shop, you can add the perfect finishing touch to fragrances by having them gift wrapped. They offer a choice of colours and ribbons for just £1 per item or premium boxes with tissue paper, tags and ribbon for just £1.50 per item. Simply tick the ‘Gift Wrap’ option next to each product you wish to be wrapped at the checkout.
The White Company
The White Company offer a great gift wrapping service to make your presents feel extra special, from just £5 you can have your gift inside a premium gift box with a ribbon. Plus, they can deliver straight to the recipient’s door with a personalised message from you, or deliver it to you to put under the Christmas tree.
If you don’t have time to pop into an Ernest Jones store before Crimbo, you can still get a gift engraved and have it wrapped for you. You’ll have to hurry though, as engraved gifts will need an extra 3-8 working days on top of delivery time. Engraving is really simple, you can check the max character limit per item on the product description to make sure your message will fit. As a price guide, rings are £21 and for all other engravable items it’s £16. Add just £3 more and you can have it gift-wrapped as well. Gift wrap is only charged once, no matter how many gift items you order.
We’d love nothing more than to see the Christmas tree surrounded by iconic yellow Selfridges boxes this year. Luckily, anyone who wants to send us a gift, ahem, can do just that. Selfridges offer their signature yellow gift boxes and a personalised message for ust £5 per gift, simply select Gift Box at the checkout.
For £6, you’re getting an extra special gift wrapping service from Kate Spade. Most items are wrapped in trademark Kate Spade tissue paper, sealed with a sticker and packed in a multi-coloured gift box tied with a ribbon. Marks & Spencer
For just £2.95 you can make you M&S gifts extra special by adding a gift wrap and a personalised message – just select ‘Make this a gift’ at the checkout. Unfortunately they aren’t able to offer gift wrapping on food, wine, flowers and plant gifts.
John Greed’s engraving options are just as luxe as its jewellery, and it’s officially authorised by many of the premium brands it stocks (it even has its own laser to do it with – fancy). It’s good for last-minute presents, as many engravings take only a couple of days and you can bump your order to the top of the queue by selecting ‘next working day’ at checkout. There are four fonts to choose from, and all personalised items come supplied in gift packaging.
