Christmas is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited, mostly, to begin the month’s worth of treats from our advent calendar; we’re over chocolate, though. Alternative advent calendars are the Christmas treat yo’self item to have this year, and while beauty advent calendars are still the most popular, ones filled with Disney baubles, wine and even Yankee Candles are the next big thing. So, in the interest of counting down to Christmas in style we’ve rounded up some of the best alternative advent calendars around. From gin and lego to pork scratchings and Pringles, we definitely want to open one of these bad boys everyday in December. Who needs chocolate?
Sainsbury’s cheese advent calendar, £10
Christmas is basically just an excuse to eat our body weight in cheese, right? Luckily, Sainsbury’s are getting us started early by creating their own £10 cheese advent calendar. Filled with seven, yes seven, varieties of cheese including Jarlsberg, Applewood, Edam, Red Leicester, Wensleydale, Cheddar and a limited-edition ginger cheese. Whiskey lovers, this is right up your street. Asda are selling a Jack Daniel’s advent calendar filled with, you guessed it, 24 days of whiskey. The calendar has 23 miniatures from the Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey range including the Honey, Fire, Gentleman Jack and Single Barrel varieties. Plus, you’ll also get a special 5cl Jack Daniel’s hip flask key ring as well.
Harry Potter advent calendar, £TBC
Potterheads, listen up. A Harry Potter advent calendar exists and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s filled with 24 adorable pocket-sized POP figurines which you can collect and keep forever.
