2019 has already been a great year for vegans, with several restaurants, brands and fast food outlets releasing vegan treats and vegan versions of fan favourites. Greggs literally took the country by storm with their vegan sausage roll, but Tesco just one-upped them with their own version. And it’s cheaper.
Apparently, the supermarket was inspired by the ‘Greggs effect’ and have launched their own meat and dairy-free version of the British classic, described as “puff pastry filled with soya-based Lincolnshire-style sausage, seasoned with sage and onion” – sounds delicious. The savoury snack is available now from the in-store bakeries at 624 stores nationwide, and costs just 75p which is 25% cheaper than the £1 Greggs version. Just in case you can’t bear the thought of not having a constant supply of vegan sausage rolls (same) then Tesco is also selling packs of 30 frozen miniatures for just £1.75. See you there!
