Easter is just around the corner, which means it’s the perfect excuse to indulge ourselves with sweet treats once again – not that we haven’t been doing that anyway… As if by magic Costa Coffee have launched their new spring menu which is filled with delicious new Easter treats that are taking us right back to our childhood; we’re talking chocolate cornflake cakes, flapjacks and more. Plus, the return of some old favourites like the Choc-O-Crunch and, drumroll please, the white hot chocolate. Easter is quickly becoming our new favourite time of year.
First up is the new chocolate-filled Cornflake Nest topped with mini eggs – an Easter classic – alongside the new light and crispy cream-filled Snackwafers available in either cocoa or vanilla flavour. And you’ll be pleased to know that Costa is bringing back the popular Choc-O-Crunch – a doughnut-inspired ring of crispy rice coated in caramel and pastel shades of white chocolate; almost too good to eat. Almost.
Plus, in case you’re vegan or gluten-free, Costa has got you covered. They’ve added the new Gluten-Free Raspberry & Coconut Bar – pastry packed with a delicious raspberry and sultana filling topped with coconut, as well as the new Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free Vegan Fruity Flapjack (phew, that was a mouthful) filled with gluten-free oats, sultanas, cranberries and apricots. Yum.
And last but not least, the return of the beloved white hot chocolate, a decadent version of their signature hot choccie. But at 523 calories for the large size and 719 if you add cream, marshmallows and a chocolate flake (duh, of course we would) this one might have to be a one-off treat this Easter.
Haven’t got a sweet tooth? For those looking for a savoury hit, Costa has brought back two popular items: the Cheese Scone, served warm, made with mature Irish cheddar, parmesan, chives and a hint of cayenne pepper, and the Cheese Twist made with crisp, buttery puff pastry, mature cheddar and parmesan. We’ll take two of each, please.
The spring menu will be available until May in over 2,600 Costa Coffee shops. Find your nearest branch here.
