No one does Christmas bigger and better than Germany, and their homegrown supermarket Aldi is no exception. Entire aisles are devoted to all things festive, with product release dates staggered throughout December to keep things interesting – with a lucky few on sale from late November.

As we savvy shoppers know all too well, they cater for everyone from shoppers on a tight budget to those with cash to splash, all at a mind-blowing high quality. No matter whether you’ve got a tenner to spend, or ten times that, Aldi comes up with the goods again and again.

Of course, all the classics are there but dig a little deeper and you’ll find some of the more unique Germany-style options, whether you’re a dyed-in-the-wool meat-eater, vegetarian or vegan. We’ve picked out some of the best, whether you want to keep it ultra-traditional for granny, or branch out into the more weird and wonderful side of Christmas. Stick your Christmas cracker hat on and prepare to eat yourself silly.

Starters

These delicious pastry snacks will be a smash hit for your hungry guests. Choose from cauliflower, leek and goats cheese or butternut squash and brie wellington slice for a delicious veggie-friendly snack.

Looking for an easy-to-serve starter with a touch of class? These gorgeous-looking mini pots of paté will look pitch perfect on your Christmas dining table, whether you go for the delicious duck and port option, or the classic Brussels and cranberry.

It doesn’t get more festive than this. Mouthwatering pork chipolatas wrapped in smoked bacon, just begging to be dipped in the included cranberry compote. A perfect lead-up to a that turkey dinner.

Vegans needn’t feel left out either, thanks to these gorgeous plump olives. The chimichurri ones can’t be beat but steer clear of the Manchego cheese ones!

Mains

Turkeys don’t get better than this. British-farmed and fed on oats to give a deep, rich flavour, plus reared according to the highest welfare standards in the worlds. This is one damn big bird that’ll feed at least ten hungry people, so expect plenty of leftovers.

Not a fan of meat? Don’t worry, this huge Camembert wheel makes an impressive centrepiece to rival any turkey thanks to the attractive, and reusable, ceramic dish. The vegetarian version comes with a sloe gin glaze and a glistening gold lustre.

Make your Christmas dinner a heck of a lot easier with this fully-deboned duck, stuffed with pork and clementine and finished with an orange glaze.

Salmon is fast-becoming one of the more popular alternative Christmas dinner choices, and Aldi are selling one of the very best. This is an entire side of Scottish salmon, smoked using beech and oak, then layered with king prawns and cream cheese. That’s not enough? It’s even finished off with a sprinkling of dill and that eye-catching edible gold lustre.

Desserts

Don’t be confused, Buche de Noel is simply the French name for a Christmas cake shaped like a log. You have two choices for this rich, creamy cake: passion fruit or gingerbread and salted caramel. Better still, treat yourself and get both to go alongside those all-important leftovers.

After the main meal, not everyone wants a sugar injection so think about getting this cute Christmas cracker shaped tray of different cheeses. You’ll find easy-to-eat cubes of everything from Wensleydale with cranberries to hot mex cheddar.

Really looking to wow your guests? Look no further than this gorgeous dessert table showpiece. This is a light and airy golden sponge cake that needs to be seen (and tasted) to be believed.

It’s likely your guests will be stuffed to the gills after their midday feast, but there’s always room for ice cream and Aldi have come up trumps with this Christmas-themed array. Three festive flavours are on offer: mince pie and brand butter, gingerbread latte and espresso martini. Yum!
