We may not have Sephora in the UK yet (which we’re still sad about) but the last year has seen several cult US beauty brands come across the pond to the UK, e.g. Drunk Elephant, Kate Somerville and Morphe. But the latest brand to finally make the leap is the seriously cool Milk Makeup, and we. can’t. wait. Never heard of Milk Makeup before? Don’t worry because we’ve got everything you need to know about them, from which products you need to try, to where you can buy it in the UK.

What is Milk Makeup?

Milk Makeup is an Instagram-famous, award-winning American beauty brand. It was started by former beauty editor and now E! news correspondent, Zanna Roberts Rassi and her husband, the founder of Milk Studios – an uber cool creative photography and production studio in LA and New York. And no big deal, but they’ve even collaborated with the Wu-Tang Clan

What’s so special about the brand?

Apart from being super Instagrammable, all their products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and contain no nasties like talc, mineral oil, sulphates or synthetic fragrances. Phew. Not to mention their use of fuss-free stick formulas, holographic colours and inclusive shade ranges; it’s no wonder they’ve made it to the top of every beauty junkie’s wish list.

What products do they sell?

They have a huge selection of multi-use skincare and make-up products, from the Blur Liquid Matte Foundation to their Tattoo Stamp and more; plus all of the products are designed at Milk Studios in New York, FYI. Milk believe in the concept of ‘clean beauty’ and refuse to compromise on good quality ingredients, with epic pay off. They even have adorable miniature versions of some of their most popular products like the Cooling Water, Blur Stick and Holographic Highlighter which are perfect for travelling.

When is it launching in the UK?

Milk Makeup is officially launching in the UK and Ireland on 28 January 2019, but if you can’t wait until then, the brand is hosting a two-day pop-up in Covent Garden so you can get your hands on some of their cult products before anyone else. The Milk Makeup x Cult Beauty pop-up will be held at Unit 6, 6a Langley Street, London, WC2H 9JA from Saturday 26 January (11:30 – 19:00) until Sunday 27 January (12:00 – 18:00).

What are the best Milk Makeup products?

Milk have a range of seriously amazing products, but we get it, the product selection of an unfamiliar brand can be overwhelming. So what should you be spending your hard-earned cash on? We’ve picked out eight of their best-selling products which have rightfully earned cult-status.

milk cooling water stick

Cooling Water, £20.50

This is basically sleep in a stick. The cooling gel formula instantly de-puffs under eyes giving skin an energized, refreshed glow. Infused with caffeine to support circulation and seawater to hydrate and calm skin all day, this is guaranteed to be your best friend after a night out.

Holographic Stick, £23.75

Have we ever mentioned that we love shiny, glittery things? Well, we love them. The Holographic highlighting stick is infused with actual meteorite powder, as well as mango butter and coconut oil which nourish skin and give it a super dewy finish; plus, the shades are designed to be universally flattering on every skin tone. Simply swipe on for a galactic glow.

milk kush mascara

KUSH High Volume Mascara, £20.50

The secret to this best-selling mascara’s incredible volume? Cannabis oil, not the illegal kind mind you. It promises to lift every lash, hold a curl and add 15x more volume, with the help of unique heart-shaped fibres which fuse the cannabis oil onto lashes. Typically vegan formula mascaras aren’t great, but Milk have cracked it with the addition of cannabis oil which creates a creamier formula that’s smooth to apply and simple to remove.

Blur Stick, £30.50

If we had a pound for everytime we wished we could add an Instagram filter to our face IRL, we’d be, like, really rich. Which is why the Blur Stick is one of Milk’s most-loved products; it’s been proven to reduce the appearance of pores by up to 68% leaving a smooth, matte finish on the skin – and it won’t clog pores either.

milk matte bronzer

Matte Bronzer, £20.50

The innovative design of this twist up bronzing stick makes it so easy to contour and bronze in a swipe – it’s literally your cheekbone-granting Fairy Godmother. It contains nourishing mango butter and avocado oil to keep skin hydrated, but don’t worry it’s got a perfectly matte finish so you won’t be left super shiny.

Watermelon Brightening Serum, £32.50

If, like us, winter has done horrible things to your skin, fear not because Milk’s Watermelon serum is here to save the day. It’s packed full of good stuff like Swiss garden cress, watermelon extract and vitamins A, C and E which all combat the appearance of dark spots, protect against pollution and increase elasticity. Seriously, what can’t it do?

milk kush brow gel

KUSH Fiber Brow Gel, £15

Another genius product in their cannabis oil-infused product range, this one gets your brows on fleek. It has the same heart-shaped fibres as the mascara which give brows thickness but without any flaking; the cannabis oil acts like a hair mask for your brows and stops the gel from getting stiff. Plus, the teeny, tiny wand makes sure you get maximum precision without overloading product.

Matcha Toner, £22

Believe it or not, this claims to be the world’s first solid toner in a stick – pretty cool eh? The formula is infused with a mix of matcha green tea to detoxify skin, kombucha and witch hazel to tighten pores and absorb excess oil, plus cactus elixir to hydrate and calm. We’re so here for swipe on skincare.
