Ah to be a teen in the noughties… It was all about shimmery eye shadow (most likely up to your un-tinted, overly plucked brows), an essential can of Charlie red body spray, and most importantly – glitter lip-gloss. And now thanks to Kylie Cosmetics it’s back, and it’s more popular than ever.

While we associate the Kylie Cosmetics creator and new mum with her signature matte pout, her Insta-feed showed us a completely fresh look with the announcement for the super glitter glosses from her latest summer collection. Naturally, it quickly racked up nearly 3m likes and when the three shades; Go Bananas, Chill Peel and Don’t Slip dropped on site, they sold out within minutes. It’s since been restocked). At first we were slightly alarmed at the thought of the sticky lippy making a come back, but these £11.50 glosses are persuading us to follow suit.

So how do you wear it? While our inner teen wants us to go back to basics with just a thin layer of the shimmery gloss, the contour Queens need to layer. Make like Kylie and add a base matte lipstick to build up the colour and make the glittery element the glossy finishing touch. If you don’t fancy paying the slightly extortionate custom prices, we’ve found some alternatives to Kylie’s sell-out gloss that are available now – and they’ll look just as slick.

Ready, steady, gloss.

The best Kylie Super Glitter Gloss dupes:

Bobbi Brown at Debenhams shimmer lip gloss in Rose Sugar, £22

Kylie Cosmetics

It’s almost identical to Kylie’s ‘Don’t Slip’ shade.

NYX duo chromatic lip gloss in the new normal, £7

Kylie Cosmetics

You’ll have everyone fooled into thinking you were one of the lucky ones to snap up the actual Kylie Cosmetics gloss in ‘Go Bananas’ – and, it’s a cut of the price.

Lime Crime at Feel Unique diamond crushers in choke, £16.20

Kylie Cosmetics

Say hey to your new shimmery pout with the Lime Crime collection – our fave is the ‘Choke’ shade, and yep, it’s just like Kylie’s ‘Chill Peel’ sell-out.
